My parenting workshops for corporate partners supporting employees

This year I launched a series of workshops for corporate partners looking to support employees who are navigating working from home whilst focusing on their children. I think it’s fair to say that the last year or so has been a juggle and a struggle for those who are usually based in an office whilst the children either attend pre-school or school. Over this last year work and family life has become much more complicated, presenting its challenges and causing stress…in other words, it’s not always been easy. In fact, it’s been tough at times.

My parenting workshops aim to help improve the work life balance of staff members and support parent employees with the challenging job of raising children.

From my recent sessions with teams at PepsiCo it seems that the same parenting issues are coming up time and again. The most common concerns for parents include their children’s friendship groups, sibling comparison, social media concerns, as well as motivation and mindset. Add in anxiety and worries around confidence and you’ll have an idea of how busy the sessions have been. My aim with the sessions is to offer actionable, pro-active advice of how best to deal with parenting concerns so that the work / life balance and family dynamics can move in a positive direction.

BESPOKE PARENTING WORKSHOPS FOR CORPORATE PARTNERS

I create bespoke workshops for corporates so please do get in touch if you’re looking to add this kind of support to your employee wellbeing package. To give you some idea, here’s an outline some of the things I cover. I can run one general session or break things down into two - one session for parents with children aged 4-9 and one for parents of secondary school aged children. The topics are usually the same, but the parenting approach will be different depending on the age of the children.

Improving mindset - for both parents and children. Learn to deal with isolation, wellbeing, stress, anxiety and develop self-belief and positive thinking.

It’s been over a year since Covid arrived and with it it has brought stress, anxiety and isolation to many parents, and their children. More than 50% of women and men are presenting low self-esteem and depression based on isolation. We look at how to deal with these issues and how to work towards a growth mindset.

How to strengthen your child’s mindset and re-motivate them.

Is your child lacking confidence? Have they lost their voice? Maybe they are showing anxiety and a loss of motivation. We look at ways to support and encourage your child through these difficult times. For little children it may be that they’re more clingy than usual. For older children you may feel as though you’ve lost them to social media. Here will we look at really positive ways to help them get back in tip top condition so that they can thrive.

How to create a happy home. The dynamics of work, school and home life for parents and children.

Our home life dynamics have changed over the last twelve months. Life, school and work have become blended. We look at how you, as a parent, are presenting to your children. We cover how what you say, and your body language, can have an impact on your child. In this part of the session I give advice around pressure and expectation, stress and uncertainty, competitiveness and sibling rivalry. We explore ways to deal with these common issues.
